Rachel Wacholder had a breakout year in 2005, establishing herself as one of the top AVP Women on the Tour. Pairing with new partner Elaine Youngs, Rachel and Elaine won three tournaments during the 2005 season: the Cincinnati Open, the Huntington Beach Open and the Boulder Open. In winning the AVP Cincinnati Open, Rachel and Elaine put a halt to the 50 match win streak held by Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh.
In 2005, Rachel was named the Best Defensive Player and the Most Improved Player of the AVP women. The 2006 season will be Rachel's seventh season on the Tour. Rachel won two FIVB Grand Slam events in 2004 alongside Olympic gold medal winner Kerri Walsh.
Rachel graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Communications where she was also named Big 10 All-Conference twice. Born and raised in Laguna Beach, Rachel now resides in Redondo Beach with boyfriend Sean Scott, a player on the AVP Tour. She played volleyball in high school and was a California State Player of the Year. She occasionally does commercials and sports modeling in the off-season.
